I’ve had 50GB free on Box for a while now but haven’t had a use for it. \u00a0With the 100MB file limit there aren’t a lot of options. \u00a0Most of my files are on Dropbox due to their integration with most of the services I use.<\/p>\n

I figured I’d move my iTunes library to my Box.net folder to give me a “cloud” backup of my music if I ever have to reformat or copy my library to another computer.<\/p>\n

It’s a fairly easy procedure. \u00a0Make sure you have Box Sync installed and configured.<\/p>\n

  1. First off you’ll want to consolidate your iTunes Library\n
      \n
    1. Click File<\/strong> > Library<\/strong> > Organize Library…<\/strong><\/li>\n
    2. Click Consolidate files and then OK<\/li>\n
    3. This will consolidate your library into your current location<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
    4. Next you’ll want to change your iTunes Media folder location\n
        \n
      1. In My Box Files<\/strong> create a folder called\u00a0iTunes Media<\/strong><\/li>\n
      2. In iTunes click Edit<\/strong> > Preferences…<\/strong> > then Advanced<\/strong><\/li>\n
      3. Make sure Keep iTunes Media folder organized is checked<\/li>\n
      4. Click Change…<\/strong> and select the\u00a0iTunes Media<\/strong> folder you created then click OK<\/li>\n
      5. It will ask if you’d “like to move and rename the files in your new iTunes Media folder…” click Yes<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
        Your iTunes library should now be in your Box folder and syncing to the cloud. \u00a0The only issue with this is if you have iPhone \/ iPad apps or videos that are larger then 100MB. \u00a0Those files won’t be synced.<\/div>\n
